KwaDukuza Private Hospital (KPH) joined hands with the Inqolobane Home for Children with Physical Challenges in New Guelderland as part of their contribution to 67 Minutes for Mandela Day on Wednesday, 18 July 2018.

KPH staff together with their allied services, spent the morning at the home interacting with the Inqolobane kids through play therapy and neuro-rehab exercises. Inqolobane caregivers had their blood glucose and blood pressure tested and were also given basic training on stimulation and stress management, wound care, social interaction and feeding guidelines.

KPH Management would like to thank all our KPH allied services; physiotherapists: Carly Benade, Jay Lalloo, Sian Scheepers, Sumementha Govender, occupational therapist: Sandhia Nair, speech therapist: Evashnee Reddy, wound care specialist: Sorojini Naidoo, orthotics and prosthetics service provider: Jay Naidoo and KPH staff for uniting to give back to the community for this centenary Mandela Day celebration.

The KPH team was inspired by the words of Nelson Mandela when they planned this initiative; “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”

“Thank you for being great, for the change you made and are making in the children’s lives. You made a huge impact in such a short time”, said Wilma Steyn of Inqolobane.
